We had a great time! Ayami is so nice, speaks very good English, and definitely knows her way around Tokyo. She took us to the Tsukiji fish market and showed us the main part and a quieter area with less tourists. We had an AMAZING ramen lunch in Ginza wow, then she took us on a wonderful tour of a quiet and hip neighborhood – somewhere we would not have gone on our own and it was wonderful. She helped us buy metro passes and showed us how to use them for the metro, the vending machines, etc. We corresponded by email and set up a tour of 4 locations (6 hours) that we wanted to see: Tsukiji fish market, a shinto shrine, Tokyo Tower, and Akihabara (for electronics and anime). Β In order to understand different cultures and perspectives, she gained experience as an assistant at the painter BalthusΒ in Switzerland, and later worked at a venture capital firm, building up extensive industry knowledge and networks. After that, in order to realize her own vision, she launched her own tour concierge arrangement company, `Tailored Japan’, and as the company’s leader, she is breathing new life into the tourism industry in Japan.
